EuroGamer Expo, MidlifeGamer Meet & A Big Surprise

2 Oct

Attended the EuroGamer Expo this weekend and I have to say it was the prefect weekend.

I would never have attended the Expo, but it was the thought of meeting some amazing people from the Midlife Gamer Community that made me drag the good lady of to London to attend a Gaming show with a bunch of guys an galls she (or I) had ever met. So on the Friday morning it was straight onto the train and heading off to London, 4 hours (and a couple of drinks) later we were sat in the Prince of Wales outside of Earls Court been hugged and welcomed by some great people. A quick game of Cards Against Humanity, which was just brilliant fun (Really need to buy this). After dropping bags into the Hotel Room (Small Dark Cube) and quick change it was straight back to the Prince of Wales for a lot more drinking and meeting many more great people (far too many to mention them all). But a quick mention will go to the hosts Darren & Matt, Adam and Tara & Jim (who came a long, long way for this).

Saturday was a bit different…. We had a few hours in the Expo before going back to the pub lol

The Expo itself was amazing with some hands on experience on the big franchise releases, Indy Games and even some retro games (felt at home there lol) and then Saturday night which was the most important reason for going the Midlife Gamer after show Party and Charity Event the night was a huge success with a Wonderful Sexy Quiz (to which I have to say that I am really  sorry to my team-mates for been useless), a raffle which was the best raffle ever even if I didn’t win (Not even Natural Selection 2 lol) and then it all kicked off and the Auction started. I expected to see good things from this, but the reality was it blow my mind. The 3 prints lovingly hand drawn by @EpicToneDogg were simply beautiful and at one point I never thought the bidding was going to end.

The Charity was the real winner on Saturday night, with the community raising just short of £5,000

Sunday was a relaxing day shopping with Vicky around London and then it all happened when we got back to the Prince of Wales…….

I bought a bottle of Champagne, got down on one knee and asked the most beautiful woman in my life if she would marry me. And, surprisingly She agreed 🙂
