From Fat Lad to Fit Lad

Well it’s been a while now that I’ve not been too happy with my level of fitness and weight and I keep threatening to do something about it, but this time I’m more serious than I have ever been. My weight is just short of 13 stone (determined to get that up to 13) and for a short a**e like myself thats not good, so the plan is to get down to 11 stone and exercise quite regularly.


We get so much money each year at work for spending on a variety of benefits of which I get health care, holiday insurance, pay extra into my pension and life insurance. On top of that I also opted for a Gym membership (two years ago it was wine, 12 bottles every 3 months lol) and I am determined to actually use it and not just pay for nothing. I have also signed up to Park Run UK, and will plan on getting this done most Saturdays.

I have signed up to run a 5k event at the Riverside Stadium, Middlesbrough on the 2nd June (we have a drunken week in Caravan the week before so that should be fun lol. I have also signed up for the Middlesbrough 10k in September and I will be running these for the Games Aid Charity, even if you do not want to sponsor me at at least check out the Games Aid site and look at the amazing work some of the charities do, especially Special Effect.

I will post updates fairly regularly and keep you all posted on if I am going to become a fit lad or remain a fat lad
