Good News

1 Sep

For a while now I have been expecting to get some bad news today regarding my injury but after running the Tees Pride 10k yesterday without too much problem I was a lot more hopeful going to my appointment today and this was justified as the Specialist has told me that my achilles is not ruptured as my GP thought and no operation will be required.
What I was told is that as well as me getting old and going grey, my achilles is going the same way (not grey, just old) and it is starting to break down but this can be sorted out with a course of Physio along with some additional exercises and also doing the correct stretching (something I am very poor at). The great news was that I can start running again as long as I spend a lot more time both before & after my runs and also on days when I am not running. So hopefully things are looking up, so my first task will be to negotiate the scales in the morning and see how much weight this Fat Lad has put on ;(
