September update!

September has been a pretty good month for me, so let’s see if I can actually write a whole blog post without any negativity (has to be a first for everything).
Suppose I had better start off with injuries, over had a couple of visits to the physio and I have managed to do all the stretching exercises at least twice a day and I’ve noticed a massive improvement in my Achilles, some slight pain in my ankles due to the stretching but that is also improving now.
My weight has dropped back down to 11 stone 12 pounds which I am very happy about, especially as I am realising how much I love my food but I am been really good at cutting down on the alcohol (apart from the odd glass (or two) of wine with the good lady).
Training wise I’m managing to get out with the Middlesbrough & Cleveland Harriers each week and managed to get 4 consecutive runs at the Stewart Park parkrun and run 23:50 today which is only 7 seconds off my pb. Last Tuesday was the M&C Harriers handicap 5k trial race which I have to say I loved taking part in, I came round the final corner in third place and then one by one people started to pass me resulting in finishing 4th in a time of 24:26 which I was really pleased with.
I’m hoping for much the same in October, I’m planning on upping the number of runs each week to 4 and upping my long run to 6 miles (betting no one else is running that sort of mileage each week lol). All going to plan I should be writing about a few parkrun pb’s next month ๐Ÿ™‚

    I think you should do 6.01 mile runs! Not sure why! But again another good blog!

      I would love to be able to do 6.01 minute mile runs and keep up with you ๐Ÿ˜‰ although, think I beat you today so may retire a happy bunny.
