Slow & Steady

2 Jul

Well I’ve managed to run more miles in June than any month so far this year (79.5) I’ve still not got any speed but my times are coming down slowly and I do feel like I’m finding a little bit of fitness.

I’m sat here today, chilling ready for the Great North 10K tomorrow! I’ll update on how it went in the next couple of days but I’m hoping to be somewhere near 50 minutes but reality is that it will be around the 55 minute mark, longer than that and I will be very disappointed!!

In my last blog post I also said that I was thinking of entering the Redcar Half Marathon, well I’ve only gone and entered! So I will need to step up my training and get myself in some kind of shape for the end of September! Don’t think I’ve ever ran 13 miles since I was about 21!!

As far as training goes I’m going to have to get some sort of a plan in place and stick to it, I really don’t want to be struggling to complete the Half Marathon. So any guys an galls out there have any tips for me please feel free to leave a comment and help this little fat runner out.

Wish me luck for tomorrow, and Thanks for reading.
